RALPHH has made its final gift of defibrillation in the 2025 cricket season to Lancashire Seniors Cricket, also known at the Lancs Cavaliers.
The presentation of the Philips machine took place at Worsley Cricket Ground, on the eastern side of Manchester. Receiving the potentially life- saving equipment was (pictured) John Sharples, Chairman and First Team Manager.

Lancashire has been very successful in Over 60’s in recent years. Winning the national title in three of the last five years. This year the first team was knocked out in the quarter final stage by Kent, whilst the Second XI contested a final against Gloucestershire.
Lancashire is part of the Northern grouping for Over 60’s and Over 70’s counties, each age-band playing 12 games in the first part of the season against other northern counties and, if successful, then going forward to represent the region in the later stages of the national competition.
In 2024 the Club established its Over 70’s team, and across both age groups the membership stands at 50 members. Matches are played all over the County, but the defibrillator presentation at Worsley seemed appropriate as this is one of the most popular venues for players to get together in planning for the 2026 season practice sessions.
Making the presentation of the valuable defibrillator on behalf of RALPHH was Chairman Richard Allen, who was delighted to receive at the same time a donation towards the work of the charity by the Lancs Cavaliers.
Since March 2025, RALPHH has given defibrillators to 14 cricket clubs, stretching across the country.
