GROWTH OF HOCKEY ASSURED IN LOWESTOFT
East Coast Hockey Club makes a real community addition to the East Point Academy at Lowestoft. The club is now benefiting from a grant from the RALPHH sporting charity, which has enabled it to purchase a defibrillator with the capability to switch between adult and under-8 settings. This is important in a situation where there are so many very young participants, who are keen to learn more about playing the sport.
Driving much of this work forward is Vice-Chair Alex Bond, who first contacted RALPHH to ask for help. The RALPHH Chairman paid a visit to see how the charity’s funds were being applied and met many of the parents who had brought their children along for a taster session and some coaching.
In addition to gaining so much new interest in hockey, the Club also runs two ladies’ and two men’s teams, having come about through the amalgamation of two other clubs.
