A cricket club that does so much to keep young people so interested in the sport is the latest recipient of a gifted defibrillator from the RALPHH charity.
Bushey Cricket Club is not far from Watford and is a thriving family club where the members have developed life-long relationships. Established in 1854, it is at the heart of a local community that includes some 120 players on the colts’ programme.
A recent incident at the Club serves as a reminder of sporting preparedness. During a recent match a member experienced chest pains but fortunately received immediate attention from a paramedic attending the game.
“Thanks to the quick response and access to a defibrillator we are relieved to have our teammate Muhammad Hasain recovering and back with us,” said Farouk Khan, First Eleven Captain. “We are grateful for the support of providing life-saving equipment from RALPHH and continue to uphold our commitment to the well-being of our members,” he said.
Making the presentation of the defibrillator was RALPHH Trustee, Tim Liversage who commented:
“This club is a prime example of the enduring relationships that blossom in community sport. RALPHH is proud to support with the gift of a defibrillator.”
