RALPHH’s summer of support for cricket has continued with the gift of a defibrillator to High Halstow Cricket Club in Kent.
The Club is a major focal point for the community near Rochester and is used for a wide range of village events. It also hosts large cricket tournaments involving some 150 players.
Founded in 1895, the Club has four men’s and two ladies’ teams who play every weekend of the summer, plus a very large junior section comprising seven teams covering all ages. With more than 100 members, the Clubhouse is routinely visited by a large proportion of the local population.
The gift of a defibrillator by the RALPHH charity fills a major gap in defibrillator provision in the area. Anyone needing a machine would need to travel many miles to find another.
Presentation of the prized equipment was made on behalf of RALPHH by Laurence Alle, brother of the late Robert Allen in whose name the charity was created in 2019. Since April RALPHH has provided 11 defibrillators to cricket clubs across the South East of England and hopes to expand its support to other parts of England and Wales
